Dusty Doris & Me

After more than four hundred performances in her smash hit show "I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU - THE DUSTY SPRINGFIELD STORY", Wendy Stapleton brings her unique voice and warmth to a new, intimate cabaret show "DUSTY, DORIS & ME".

Wendy, will perform songs made classics by the totally irreplaceable Dusty Springfield including TWENTY FOUR HOURS FROM TULSA, WINDMILLS OF YOUR MIND, SON OF A PREACHER MAN, STAY AWHILE, I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF, YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME and I CLOSE MY EYES AND COUNT TO TEN.

Wendy will also present a range of wonderful songs from the movie musicals 'Calamity Jane' and 'Love Me Or Leave Me' ,made famous by another blonde icon, Doris Day. These include QUE SERA SERA, BLACK HILLS OF DAKOTA, THE DEADWOOD STAGE, SECRET LOVE, and more.

The show has played two sell out seasons at Melbourne's famed cabaret room, Capers and has just returned from a season at Sorlie's Cabaret, Sydney where the 'house full' sign was out most nights. It was also part of the Sunday Cabaret program at the Victorian Arts Centre. The show features lush musical and vocal arrangements and Wendy wears a series of spectacular wigs and costumes to evoke the 'looks' of Dusty and Doris in two hit filled forty five minute acts.

I ONLY WANNA BE WITH YOU opened in Melbourne in 1995 and has now played Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Starring Wendy Stapleton, this show was a celebration of the life of one of the most iconic female singers of all time... Dusty Springfield.

Featuring over 35 of her all time hits and presenting a beautifully staged and costumed show this musical takes us through her life from the early fifties until her return to the top of the charts with the Pet Shop Boys in the Mid 1990's.
